New Japan Pro Wrestling: G1 Climax 29 in Dallas 7/6/19 Recap and Live Impressions

New Japan started its 29th annual G1 tournament for the first time ever in the U.S.

The show in Dallas, Texas featured the first set of A block matches in this year’s G1, which took place on July 6, 2019 at the American Airlines Center. This is the first time in the promotion’s history that New Japan Pro Wrestling has done a card of the G1 tournament outside of Japan. It’s also the first time that the company has run a show in Dallas.

Ticket price: $103 after tax ($100; section 109, row U, seat 7)

There were nine matches on the card:

Guerrillas of Destiny (Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa) defeated Roppongi 3K (Sho and Yoh)

Ren Narita and Jeff Cobb defeated Shota Umino and Tomohiro Ishii

Yoshi-Hashi and Hirooki Goto (Chaos) defeated Jay White and Chase Owens (Bullet Club)

Jushin Liger, Juice Robinson and Toru Yano defeated Bushi, Shingo Takagi and Tetsuya Naito (Los Ingobernables de Japon)

A Block tournament matches:

Lance Archer defeated Will Ospreay

Bad Luck Fale defeated Evil

Sanada defeated Zack Sabre Jr.

Kenta defeated Kota Ibushi

Kazuchika Okada defeated Hiroshi Tanahashi
